Suoi Giai lake is located in Tan Lap commune, Dong Phu district, Binh Phuoc province, about 80km to the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City.

In ancient times, this place was a part of the small stream. In 1978, Binh Phuoc province built an irrigation dam to store water and provide water to local people. Since then Suoi Giai lake has been formed.

The lake has a cool and clear water. In the summer, whether in the morning or afternoon, the water temperature is always at about 30 degrees Celsius, which is an extremely cool bath.

The depth of the lake is from 8 to 10 meters with a little mud, so the most interesting activities here are swimming, rowing or net fishing. As the surface is like a mirror with almost no waves, swimming here is very safe.

Ba Ra mountain

This is an artificial lake formed along Thac Mo Hydropower, a construction started in late 1991 and put into use since mid-1995. Thac Mo hydroelectricity covers an area of about 110 km2, consisting of many branches between industrial plantations on the fertile basaltic soil. Apart from the function of producing and supplying electricity, irrigation and flood control according to the design, Thac Mo is also the source of many fishing households living along the lake. In recent years, this poetic lake has been developed as a key tourist destination of Binh Phuoc.
